MEET MRS. CARLTON
My name is Monica Carlton. I am a Georgia native raised in Austell, GA. I am a product of Cobb County Schools. I feel honored to be able to give back to Cobb County an excellent education for my students as my wonderful teachers of Cobb County have given to me.
I started my education at Kennesaw State University where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education on May 2003. I am a Georgia certified teacher. Two years after graduation, I earned my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University on December 2005.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Matt for fourteen years. We have an 8 year old daughter, Madeline. She will be in third grade this year! I enjoy reading, spending time with family, and traveling.
Educational Experience
I taught Kindergarten for three years in Douglas County. I have taught Kindergarten for five years, third grade for three years and second grade for two years in Cobb County.
Philosophy of Education
I believe that every child has the potential to succeed. An education is not just what academics one learns in school, but also learning social skills and building lifelong relationships. My mission at Lewis Elementary is for your child to grow academically while also learning life skills he/she will use for a lifetime.
